Document file type default settings RRS feed

  • Hello. Our saved documents in Office default to document type as 97-2003 rather than our latest document type [we have Office 2013]. Should our file types be defaulting to a more recent version of the document and if so how do we change the default settings for the document type? thank you.

  • Hi,

    Please check this option in Word 2013:

    FILE -> Options -> Save -> Save documents -> Save files in this format:

    You may have selected "Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc)", please select "Word Document (*.docx)" and click OK to try again.
