Remote Control SCCM Console RRS feed

  • Question

  • When you initiate a remote control session from the console, does SCCM use DNS to resolve the name or does it use the last IP address it collected during hardware inventory, which you find when right clicking and going to properties?

  • Hi,
It uses DNS, you can launch the remote control tool outside the console by launching CMRCViewer.exe..

  • Jorgen is correct, when you select a system and choose to Remote Control it will try NetBIOS name.  Alternatively, you can launch the Remote Control Viewer from start menu and then choose option from pull down menu to Connect using once of the following; NetBIOS, FQDN, IP address.
