  • Hi Chris,

Thank you for visiting our forum.

The forum that you posted is the English only forum for Microsoft Office. To avoid any misunderstanding that may be caused by the translation tool and better help you, please describe the error message shows in the picture in English. Alternatively, you could post this issue in other forums with the right language.

Beside that, I think you need to know that the security settings are also controlled by the Group Policy settings.

  • Hello Max

here the correct screenshots. I have stored the file to drive c: - same problem - why is drive c: not a trusted location or a protected view?

I have found a workaround. If I add the path to trusted location it works fine. But wy is drive C:

  • Hi Chris,

Trust me, drive C: is definitely not a definitely safe place.

  • Well, besides those three situations, the Protected View will also be enabled when the file failed in the Office File Validation.
