NAS drive showing in Network explorer but none of the files within it

    Question

  • Hi

    I have a NAS drive connected to my wifi router via ethernet cable.

    In the Network explorer on my laptop running Windows 7 I can see the drive with the triangle next to it to expand.

    However when I hit the triangle to open the NAS drive, none of the folders are visible anymore and I am not prompted for user name and password as I was before?

  • Hi,

    Check the two steps below if they are helpful.

    You could try to disconnect the drive letter and re-map the drive letter to the UNC.

    Disconnect share first

    net use P: \\Server\Share /disconnect

    reconnect to share

    net use P: \\Server\Share /presistent:yes

    Or you could check the registry below.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters]

    "DirectoryCacheLifetime"=dword:00000000

    If you can’t find it, you could create it.

    Hope it will be helpful to you
