Creating a group with multiple members who can add new users RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello! I have a SharePoint group and I am the owner. However, I would like to give other group members the ability to add new users to the group. Is there a recommended way to do this?

    Thanks!

  • You can set up the owner of your group to be another SharePoint Group instead of your account. (e.g MyGroupOwners)

Then add to MyGroupOwners your account and every other person you would like to edit your group's membership.

  • Hi Thomas,

Open the group you want to change the permissions.

Under Settings select Group Settings to view the settings for the group.

In the Change Group Settings page, under Group Settings , for Who can edit the membership of the group? make sure "Group Members " is selected.

This will allow the members of that particular group to manage the group users.

    Thanks,
