How to make a script that counts up with letters. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello guys,

I am creating a script that is able to try password combinations. this is what i got so far (it wors fine) created with .bat (CMD)

    TITLE Mysticodes
    ECHO OFF
    :AGAIN
    COLOR 0a
    SET PSWD=0
    SET DEST=%TEMP%\%RANDOM%
    MD %DEST%
    CLS
    SET/P NAME=Enter the Destination Path:
    IF EXIST "%NAME%" GOTO START
    :PATH
    CLS
ECHO Incorrect Path Name..Please Try Again...!
    Pause
    GOTO AGAIN
    :START
    CLS
    SET /A PSWD=%PSWD%+1
    ECHO Generating Possible Values...
    ECHO CURRENT PASSWORD = %PSWD%
    UNRAR E -INUL -P%PSWD% "%NAME%" "%DEST%"
    IF /I %ERRORLEVEL% EQU 0 GOTO FINISH
    GOTO START
    :FINISH
    CLS
    ECHO Final Output:
    PAUSE>NUL
    CLS
    ECHO FILE = %NAME%
ECHO The Password is = %PSWD%
    PAUSE>NUL
    EXIT

With this i am able to crack password that only use numbers but i want to be able to crack letters to.

    SET /A PSWD=%PSWD%+1
    ECHO Generating Possible Values...
    ECHO CURRENT PASSWORD = %PSWD%
    UNRAR E -INUL -P%PSWD% "%NAME%" "%DEST%"
    IF /I %ERRORLEVEL% EQU 0 GOTO FINISH

This is the line for the numbers so it counts one up every time.

i was bussy scripting but I only got it so it goes one for one so it goes 'a' to 'z' but when it gets to 'z' i needs to reset to 'a' and add a second row. So 'aa' and then goes to 'ba' till it is 'za' to reset to 'ab' 'bb'

Hope any one can help me.

    Mutch thanks

  • There are, I am sure, tools designed to try to crack passwords of encrypted archive files.

This is not the right place to ask about that.
