wss 3 branding RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We are looking to do some branding on our existing sharepoint implementation which is running on wss 3.  The branding will not be real intense in that we will simply have a custom color scheme throughout in addition to our logo and custom tabs or links along the top.  I have a few questions concerning the branding and our eventual move to 2010.

    1.  Can you tell me what tools outside of designer should i be using to effectively brand our wss 3 site?

    2.  Can i use the latest version of Designer to make the changes needed or do i have to use an older version to make the changes in wss 3?

    Thanks for the assistance.

  • Hi Olson,

I am not sure if any tools can do such task automatically as it requires upgrade not only to layout, but too CSS 2.0 to 3.0 (and sometimes javascripts too)

    Hope this helps.

  • For color scheme, use custom CSS and use SharePoint Designer 2007 for making the changes in WSS 3.0. Save the CSS file on the website and not on local hard drive on your server.
