  • Yes, but it's little bit trickier to share the content in SharePoint 2019. there are few third party tools which does this job fantastically like AvePoint etc.,

The 'sharing' options have not changed between 2013, 2016 and 2019.

You could use standard Active Directory accounts and hand those out to non-employees. This requires a Windows User CAL or External Connector (last I looked, that evens out at ~60 users). On the SharePoint side, no licensing is required.

You could also federate using Azure ACS and develop custom code to handle sharing with accounts such as Microsoft, Facebook, etc. This is a fairly high development investment, though.

  • Hi, ghsajith,

Mostly the sharing feature in SharePoint 2019 is almost same with SharePoint 2016. For sharing contents to external users, you may need to

    1. Create another OU in AD to contain those external users and grant them specific permission.

    2. Create separate sites with contents for external sharing. Make it accessible to anonymous access.

    3. For limited number of files, you can also try to share them via OneDrive.

Or you may need to create custom solutions or check 3rd party tools

    Best Regards

    Jerry
