Problem with installing Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials Preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have downloaded Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials Preview and try to install it to alone computer. After some minutes it prints error "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem....". I have repeated it three times (download and try to install). Result is the same.

  • I would really suggest trying from usb.  Use the win 7 download tool to create the stick.  Burning those big DVD's is just hard.  You might also try with just one stick of ram and swap if it still fails.

  • Can you please give some hardware details? Are you installing from USB drive or DVD?

  • What mode is configured in Bios for disk access? Raid, Ahci or IDE? Try AHCI.

    Hello!

I have downloaded ISO yesterday, but I can't burn it into USB, because Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool say that ISO is corrupt.

I succesfully burned  ISO into DVD, but Windows boot manager give me error and didn't install OS ("Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem....").

Same result I have on my server and my notebook.

I have downloaded  new ISO today, but Windows 7 USB DVD say  "The selected ISO is not valid.."

    Please check this ISO http://technet.microsoft.com/ru-ru/evalcenter/dn205289?download=dlm3&url=http://care.dlservice.microsoft.com/dl/download/D/2/4/D24FA6CE-4293-45B1-9A46-AAF4FA4F86FD/9431.0.WINMAIN_BLUEMP.130615-1214_X64FRE_SERVER_SOLUTION_RU-RU-IMP_SSSO_X64FRE_RU-RU_DV5.ISO

I think  MS distribute failed ISO ))).
