Site Code After Discovery RRS feed

  • Question

  • Am I correct that once a full discovery is ran, all discovered resources should be assigned a site in the console? This is before the client is installed though.  I'm having an issue where they aren't getting a site code, so when I go to run the automatic site wide client installation it isn't working and I'm guessing this is why? Nothing in CCM.log.

  • Have you configured your boundaries?

  • Yes I have IP address range boundaries from the Active Directory Forest Discovery. They are in boundary groups and all.  There are currently 2007 clients deployed on all the resources and I'm trying to get them to the new version. I can manually right click on a collection and the client will install fine if I use the Client Install wizard, just the auto site wide client push isn't working.

  • Hi,

Have you configured Boundaries and Boundary groups for site assignment? In ConfigMgr 2012 Boundary Groups are used for site assignment instead of Boundaries as in previous versions, more information can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712679.aspx
