Synchronize jobs failing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are currently doing restores each day to a separate network device for long term archival via powershell scripts.

Everything on that part is working well.

    Here's the setup.

We have a primary DPM server with 500 DB's being backed up.

There is a secondary DPM server that backs up the first one.

Each day the secondary server synchronize with the primary at 3am.

So the scripts restore all the DB at 2PM to make sure that nothing is running.

    Here's the problem.

So the sync job runs today at 3am. No problem

Restore job runs at 2PM. All DB's are restored correctly.

The next day the sync jobs don't run.

When we look at in Monitoring->Jobs->Today's jobs they are simply not there

If we wait the next day all jobs are run at 3am.

Is there an internal SQL job we could look at or some other jobs to validate?

    Thanks for the help.

  • Hi

Do you have any errors in event viewer at all?

Does your DPM Log give any errors as well?

    Kind Regards

  • Hi Chosebin,

    Further to Daredevil's questions; off the top of my head, I can't think of a reason for a restore to affect the schedule just in and of itself, except;

    • recovering to the original source
    • recovery overlapping the sync time
    • schedule being modified

I assume, from what you describe, that the 1st and 3rd points don't apply. It would be worth knowing when the restores actually complete though.

It'd also be good to check the version that you're running, and whether you have any updates applied.

    Cheers,

    Matt
