"The system cannot find the path specified" errors in Lotus Notes crawler RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I am facing an issue "The system cannot find the path specified (0x80030007)" when SharePoint 2010 crawl Lotus Notes Domino Server.

From SharePoint ULS log file, I find the document items which has something to do with the error crawl log actually have been crawled and corresponding properties of that document have been extracted.

Below information is the ULS log snippet.

    07/27/2012 03:25:21.36     w3wp.exe (0x0480)                          0x1628     SharePoint Server Search        Notes Protocol Handler          dj8c Verbose      Item Id - tmgsseno05\acrde\report01.nsf\656e5aabff47c2f0c1257a2c004a1fac   Last Modified Time - 06/29/2012 15:43:42   5ae7f1fe-036a-4096-ab2d-37f5d88faab9

After properties have been extracted, seems that SharePoint 2010 crawler enters into gatherer process and the error "the system cannot find the path specified" is reported out.

    Log snippet is shown below.

    07/27/2012 03:25:21.54     mssearch.exe (0x1174)                      0x1774     SharePoint Server Search        GatherSvc                       fus3 Medium       Transaction failed in plugin RHTG Url notes://tmgsseno05/acrde/report01.nsf/656e5aabff47c2f0c1257a2c004a1fac Error 0x80070003  [gthrtrx.cxx:1042]  d:\office\source\search\native\gather\gthrsvc\gthrtrx.cxx

Could anyone help me about this issue? Thank you in advance.

BTW, I have checked the folder permission about "gthrsvc_OSearch14" under search service account directory and could not find any permission problem, I even created another folder "gthrsvc" just in case.

    Best,

    Ben

  • Hi smallbarrow,

The error of "The system cannot find the path specified (0x80030007)" is common error.

In order to resolve this problem, please create the folder at the appropriate path with the correct name. Once the folder has been created, the crawls should be able to get started. The path and the name of the folder that needs to be created can be determined using PowerShell. Run the following PowerShell commands on the server that hosts the crawl component having the problem:

You can refer to the following KB article.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2628230

    Thanks,

    Jack

  • Hi Jack,

    Thank you for your information.

I tried the solution in KB 2628230.

After I reset index and completed a full crawl, finally it didn't give any help, the errors are still in the crawl log.

It seems that this solution doesn't match the phenomena I mentioned above, actually the Lotus Notes crawler didn't pause when it met those errors, the documents which is crawled with that error actually was crawled successfully before "gather" process, you can see that corresponding properties information has been extracted out from the document. However, when it entered into "gather" process, the "gather service" seems that it could not identify the index path.

Could you please continue providing help?

Anyone who has any idea is also appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Ben

  • Hi smallbarrow,

When you in stall the hotfix, have you reatart your computer and give IIS reset. you'd better do these steps.

    Thanks,

    Jack
