Is it going to have support with Internet Explorer 11 with regard to Java Applet? RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I developed a financial application. I would like to know if Internet Explorer 11 will continue to support the Java applet or if it will be deprecated??

  • Hi,

    you should be using object tags to host Java JRT controls..... the applet tag is 'depreciated' in html5.

    Java JRT is an ActiveX control in MSIE web browsers and is subject to security and out of date ActiveX controls restrictions and IE's ActiveX Filtering settings.

    Domain joined networks should be using Enterprise Site Mode lists to manage the backward compatibility of their intranet assets.

    The replacement technologies are native scripting, html5 canvas, and svg.
