Is it possible to monitor SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all,

We want to monitor SUSE linux by SCOM 2007 R2. I checked SCOM document "OM2007R2_OperationsAdministratorsGuide.docx" Appendix A - Cross Platform Operating System Package Dependencies Part. It's said it's can monitor:

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (i586)

    Required Package

    Description

    Minimum Version

    glibc-2.9-13.2

    C Standard shared library

    2.9-13.2

    PAM

    Pluggable Authentication Modules

    pam-1.0.2-20.1

Our server is running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
    package installed:
    pam-1.0.4-0.7.1
    glibc-2.11.1-0.34.1
    glibc-32bit-2.11.1-0.34.1

Is it possible to monitor our server by using SCOM 2007 R2?

    Thank you.

  • I would also strongly recommend that you make sure you have the latest cumulative update (CU) for OpsMgr 2007 R2.   Support for SLES 11 was added in either CU2 or CU3.  But the latest update is CU5, and that's what we would recommend that you have.
