Infrastructure As Code RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,  I am a beginner in "Infrastructure As Code" and learning the provisioning tools like Chef.

For this purpose I am setting up an environment where I need to create a new virtual machine with an API call. I don't want to use the public cloud offerings for this purpose but want to setup everything on my own.  What are the microsoft technologoes which can help me with this? I have Windows Server 2012, Hyper-V and PowerShell with Hyper-V cmdlets installed. Are these the right tools to go ahead with ?

If you don't want to use the public cloud, then Azure Pack, System Center and Hyper-V is the components you need to instantiate a cloud on your own.
