Abnormal grow of transaction logs on database RRS feed

  • Dear Team,

    We found that abnormal growth of transaction logs on database, which has Migration.8f3e7716-2011-43e4-96b1-aba62d229136 arbitration mailbox.

    Just to know you that currently no migration batch is in progress but still the transaction logs are increasing.

    Please help or suggest to check the issue.

    There're at least a dozen reasons why it happening, we need go deep into this issue.

  • Hi,

    If you deploy mailboxes migration by Migration wizard or *-MigrationBatch commands, it's by design as described in below Microsoft link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2800556
    We can enable circular logging on the mailbox database that hosts this arbitration mailbox or move it to other database.

    It might be caused by lots factors, here's an blog about how to troubleshooting Store Log/Database growth issues in Exchange 2007, for your reference: http://blogs.technet.com/b/mikelag/archive/2009/07/12/troubleshooting-store-log-database-growth-issues.aspx

    Moreover, it might be caused by ActiveSync device or mail loop, also use New-MailboxRepairRequest with DetectOnly parameter to detect and fix mailbox corruptions.

  • Thanks Allen,

    Currently no mailbox migration going on, we also try moving the Migration.8f3e7716-2011-43e4-96b1-aba62d229136 arbitration mailbox to another database which not holding the any mailbox but still that database transaction logs getting increased.

    my environment we use Exchange 2013 CU10.
