Publish Sharepoint 2010 / UAG 2010 / HTTP 404 error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ok. I'm officially stuck but think my problem may be due to AAM in sharepoint 2010.

    Here is my setup.

    UAG settings

    Internal IP: 192.168.1.50

    External IP: 201.15.136.10

Trunk name and port: portal.xyz.com 443

    Sharepoint application setttings

    web servers tab

    Addresses: 192.168.1.51

    Port: 80

    publish host name: sharepoint.xyz.com

    Portal Link Tab:

    app name: sharepoint

    application url: hxxps://sharepoint.xyz.com

    Sharepoint server settings:

    Internal IP: 192.168.1.51

    AAM settings:

    hxxp://www.xyz.com    Default     hxxp://www.xyz.com

    hxxps://sharepoint.xyz.com     Internet    hxxps://sharepoint.xyz.com

    Internet client

    Host record additions

    201.15.136.10          portal.xyz.com

    201.15.136.10       sharepoint.xyz.com

Internally on my clients I can login to sharepoint using hxxp://www.xyz.com

My UAG can ping the IP (192.168.1.51) of the sharepoint server..

When I set the initial application of the trunk to the sharepoint app and attempt to login from the internet using hxxps://sharepoint.xyz.com I am prompted

for UAG authentication and endpoint detection, then presented with a url similar to the following:

    hxxps://sharepoint.xyz.com/uniquesig<GUIDstring>/InternalSite/RedirectToOrigURL.asp?site_name=&secure=1

The webpage cannot be found HTTP 404.

The sharepoint configuration was done by our applications group so I cannot speak for the AAM setup but am thinking we need to add/modify it somewhere.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I had the same exact issue recently.

    Step 1.

Do me a favor.  After logging into UAG,  open a new IE tab >> enter in http://sharepoint.xyz.com/Pages/Default.aspx

Does that ultimately load up your sharepoint site?

Step 2. Verify Step 1 before proceeding to Step. 2

Under "replace the host header with the following":  192.168.1.51

Try again, is it fixed?  If not, try step 1 again, what are the results?

Step 3.  Instead of using IP address under Web Server, use the hostname.

    hxxp://www.xyz.com

    !!

    Thanks,

  • I just had a similar issue - any time SharePoint redirected I got a connection failed error.  The problem was I had inadvertently set the AAM to HTTP instead of HTTPS.  SharePoint was redirecting to http and UAG was not configured to accept HTTP connections.  I simply changed my AAM to HTTPS and everything worked.
