Windows 7 RC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,  I have downloaded the RC version but in the first instance it asked me to save it WIndows 7 RC file to a CD but of course given thats its over 3.5G that would not work.  So I went ahead, wrote down the CD Key etc but now can't get it to run.  Oh just one other thing I am running VMware on my MAC but thats not an issue because XP works fine and so should WIndows 7.

  • If it's over 3.5 G, you must have downloaded and extracted the 64-bit version of Win7 RC. Are you sure you can handle that with your base configuration? (BTW, that 3.5 G don't fit on a CD, is obvious. You need a DVD instead.)

  • Mocca32,

If you downloaded the installation form the microsoft site, then you downloaded a DVD image.
The extension of the file should be ".iso". Now if you want to install this image of windows 7 in a vmware pc.

The only thing you need to do is associate the iso file with the dvd/cd player of your vmware machine.
And boot the vmware machine from your virtual cd/dvd player. And the installation of windows 7 will kick off.

    Kind Regards
