  • Hi tmp70,

It depends if you want to make a change while developing or you want to make a change on a production environment. In a production environment I would say yes, because the Fabric Controller needs to know how to redeploy the application if the instance crashes or you want to scale out for example.

On the other hand, if you want to modify an application you're developing or want to apply a quick fix on an application you're currently testing you have 2 options:

  • Faster way to push in your changes done to web role is using web deploy. By checking the web deploy feature while deploying the solution for the first time  you could make changes and test them for your testing purposes. There are certain limitations also like web deploy can only be used for  1 instance.

you could find more detail here.

  • Hello,

You need to upload only two files 1) Configuaration files
      2) Package file only from solution explorer
