Vista allowed me to disable the taskbar thumbnails that preview open windows.
Is there any way to accomplish this with W7?Monday, April 13, 2009 5:03 AM

Hi,
No, there is no way to do this. Comparing to Vista, w7 taskbar offer much moore functionality just an thumbnail. ctually w7 thumbnail is active window you can work with.

Is there really no way to have it disabled, not even via any registry edit?
I am used to switch between various windows by simply clicking on them in the taskbar, or to "park" the mouse cursor over there while processing a text via keyboard etc., and all these pop-ups (be it in aero mode or only text) are a bit annoying and disturbing. Or for example I have two separated entries for two separated Excel files, and if I go to open one of them (seeing the title in the bar), I really do not need to know that there is another window open where I could switch to. (By the way, unlike for other apps, the preview fails to show content preview for Office 2007 and for a folder - but that may be just some misconfiguration.)Friday, December 18, 2009 1:23 AM -
