Word 2010 - Saving Ribbon Customizations in .dotm RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Word 2010, is there a simple way to save ribbon customizations to a .dotm file for distribution to my users?

I've tried creating a .dotm file, making customizations to the ribbon, but ultimately the changes always save to the word.officeui file.

I would prefer to avoid complex VB or XML coding.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,

When you customize the UI in a particular application, Office 2010 creates an *.officeUI file for that application that contains the customization XML.

Then if you just want all the users use the same ribbon, then just export and import the .officeUI file.
