Set opening window in Windows 10 file explorer to 'This PC'

    Question

  • Is there a way to set the first screen that opens in File Explorer to be 'This PC' and not 'Quick Access'? A GPO would be perfect but failing that, a registry entry/change would do.

    Thanks,

    Richard

  • Hi,
    Please have a try the following registry to see if it helps you:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
    LaunchTo DWORD
    1 = This PC
    The following screenshots are the result which is tested in my lab environment:

  • Hi,

    No need to modify registry for that. Just open File Explorer --> Click on View Tab and Options --> Change folder and search options

    And that's it

    That's the interactive way. The TO was asking for an automated solution :)
