Finding Name of Local Cost Resources in MS-Project 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have created a cost resource with name "Travel" as local resource for my project in MSP 2010. Now, when I'm trying to get name of this cost resource through T-SQL script in "ProjectServer_Reporting" db , I get "Generic Local Resource".

Where (What table) do I need to go to get name of this cost resource?

My requirement is to track cost resources for pojects (along with other costs) that are local to projects and not necessarily will apply to all projects in my department.

  • Hi there,

Local resources will appear in the DB as Generic Local Resource, there is no way to get the name of a local resource from the DB. I would recommend using Enterprise resources if you want to report on these using T-SQL.

    Thanks

    Paul

  • Hi Albert,

As suggested by Paul, you need to use Ent. Resource to get the name of the resource from RDB. The only table that has the local resource name is MSP_PROJECT_RESOURCES in PUBLISHED database and it is not recommended to access the published database.

    Thanks,

    Laksh
