Exchange 2010 to 2007 Transition - Exchange Trusted Subsystem Group? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am in the process of doing the transition from Exchange 2007 to 2010. should the Exchange trusted subsystem group be a member of the local admin group on the 2007 servers? If so, does it need to be on CAS, HUB, and MB servers?

  • Hi ,

In order to support coexistence with Exchange 2010, Exchange 2007 SP2 creates Exchange Trusted SubSystem group in the Microsoft Exchange Security Groups organization unit during the AD preparation setup phase. This group is then added to the Exchange 2007 server's local administrators group during the installation of the SP2 binaries.

  • I've never had to add that manually.  Setup takes care of setting the rights that are required.
