Unable to change case sensitive setting in Server for NFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • My DPM server is unable to backup one server because "case sensitivity is not supported". I have now found that the server in question uses NFS.  When open Services for Network File System and go to Server for NFS properties, I see that "Enable case sensitive filename support in Server for NFS" is checked under Filename Handling.  However, when I clear that checkbox and select Apply, I get the error:

    Unknown error 80041031 occurred.
Unable to update configuration settings for NFS Server

I then ran the command "nfsadmin server appserver1 config casesensitivelookups=no".  I received the response:

    Failed to update the settings.

Next was the registry entry "HKLM\system\ccs\control\session manager\kernel".  I found that the entry for obcaseinsensitive was already set to '0'.  Yet the Services for Network File System console still shows the box checked for case sensitivity.

So I'm confused and unable to proceed.  Can anyone tell me how to clear the check box to disable case sensitivity?

    Thanks,
    Joe
