BizTalk 2016: DMZ and Secure Zone set up RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Friends,<o:p></o:p>

We are migrating our integration applications from webMethods to BizTalk 2016.<o:p></o:p>

We have installed the BizTalk 2016 and SQL 2016 in same server and placed in DMZ (Perimeter network), now we are thinking to move
    this server to Secure Zone.<o:p></o:p>

Please let us know what is the best way to achieve above, share the related info if you know any. Thank you very much.<o:p></o:p>

    Regards<o:p></o:p>

  • You have not told us where the client connection are coming from.  Without that it would be rather hard to give any advice.  Also your security team should be telling you what their preferred option is. If it is external, reverse proxy, firewall rules, exposing it out via relay via Azure are all options.

Is that a Production BizTalk server?   It is not recommended to have both BizTalk and SQL on the same server for Production.

  • Dear Colin Dijkgraaf,

Our remote clients will connect (HTTPS connection) to our web server (IIS), and this IIS should do the authentication\encryption and should redirect the request to our secure zone BizTalk server.

  • It sounds like you need a Reverse Proxy or similar in your DMZ that can do the authentication and the redirect it to your BizTalk Server.  Ask your network team if they have something capable of that.
