  • You can create a test file of nothing but the errors that SFC cannot correct. Create a batch file and put this line in it:

    C:\Windows\system32\findstr.exe /c:"[SR] Cannot" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log  >sfcdetails.txt

    It will create "sfcdetails.txt" in whatever folder you ran the batch file from, unless you specify a path after the ">".

  • I should have added that it has to be run as Admin. You may have to rerun SFC /SCANNOW first, then right-click on the batch file and select "Run as Administrator."
    Sorry, I forgot to mention that :-(

  • C:\Windows\system32\findstr.exe /c:"[SR] Cannot" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log  >sfcdetails.txt

     This is the line I use; I copied it directly from my batch file.
    I have a folder on my hard drive called C:\Scripts that I use for all of my batch files, reg entries, etc. After running SFC /SCANNOW I then ran my batch file as Admin, and the sfcdetails.txt file is created in that same \Scripts folder.

     This is a sample of the output:

  • I'm not sure how to fix those errors (they all appear to be part of the "NET" package), but unless you're seeing errors in the event logs referring to them, I don't see them as a problem. Maybe someone with a better grasp of those listings can help.
     I don't know why I get the "gpedit.dll" and "fdeploy,dll" errors since my version of Win7 doesn't even support the Group Policy Editor, and those files SHOULD be missing. But a search shows they do exist in the \system32 folder, so I assume that the errors are because GPE isn't supported, so the DLL's aren't registered. I don't know; they don't seem to be hurting anything, so I've just left it alone.

    As far as the Task Scheduler problem, read this:
    <http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-performance/mmc-could-not-create-the-snap-in-when-running-task/0601fd0f-4bcc-47d7-85f6-7f5388ca0a52>
    Maybe the answer there will help you, too.

    A Google search turned up 15,600 hits:
