  • I am trying to crawl using JDBC connector but when I try to run the jdbc connector I am getting the following error messages:

2012-02-15 05:18:05,081 ERROR [JDBCConnector] Failed creating adapter instace. Test connection failed.
2012-02-15 05:18:05,081 ERROR [JDBCConnector] Caused by: Could not connect to database: Connection reset

2012-02-15 05:18:20,089 INFO  [JDBCConnector] Finished running the connector!

Is there anything that I should enable or change in configuration.

Any suggestions which would help me?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Have you checked all the things that the error is suggesting?  i.e. TCP/IP enabled on SQLServer, proper DB name and ports, username/password (if not using integratedsecurity), etc., etc.?

The TCP/IP is enabled on SQL server, the DB and port names are correct. And I have used integratedsecurity.

  • One way of going about debugging would be to verify that only the status tracking db is the problem by disabling it:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ff383280.aspx
You can choose to turn off item status tracking by setting the FAST Search database connector configuration file parameter ConnectorExecution/EnableStatusTracker to false.

If the old problem goes away but you find a new one, at least you are further along.

All of the fields are described in detail here, for reference:

  • Thanks for your suggestion. It resolved one of the errors and now the error is with the DB connection only.
