Versioning of project plans in Project Server 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • The users of our Project Server system are asking for how to do the following:

    1) Rollback to an older version of the project plan

    2) Use a workflow similar to Sharepoint's three-stage-workflow to send an email to a second person whenever the project plan was altered in a way similar to creating a new main version of a SharePoint document/list entry.

Is there any way to do these things?

  • Hi Sylvia,

for your point 1: you can use Admin Backup/Restore option to restore older version of schedule if required

however this is also a manual operation, carried by Admin on need basis.

For Point 2: there is no OOB way to achieving this requirement.

based on your exact requirement, customization is your way forward. If only notifying to second person is required, create an On Publish project server event to send email with schedule changes.

    hope this helps.
