PWA privision fail on standalone SharePoint Server 2013 with 'Add PWAWorkflow Feature failed' RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with SharePoint Server 2003 SP1 standalone(non-domain) server and running SQL Server 2008 Express. I installed project server 2013 onto it, after hundrunds of times fail. Then the configuration wizard created a default PWA site collection for me at  http://ServerName/PWA, but its provision status is failed.

I changed the site collection administrator to a local administrators group memeber but not build in administrator account, and retry the provision. The ULS log shows it failed at:

and another error log before is:

The database provision is successful according to the log, with some lines of grant permission to network service fail etc.I

I believe this is a configuration problem but I have no any idea how to adjust it. Please anyone give me some hint. Thank you very much.

  • First, I would start over and get a clean install and working provision PWA.  It seems like you are doing something wrong that isn't obvious.  The NON-DOMAIN has me a little concerned.  I don't believe that is supported but I can't find any documentation that states otherwise. It seems like I tried it years ago and I never got it to work.

Here is would I would suggest.

    1) Get SharePoint up and running with out any errors.  Build a site collection and site and make sure the basics are working

    2) Install Project Server and then run the SharePoint Production Configuration Wizard.  This must run completely without any errors.

    3) Then try provisioning PWA.
