  • Question

  • Hi,

I am facing one peculiar problem with Windows XP.

I have work-center PC with Windows XP OEM License, due to some problem I have formatted the PC and re-installed successfully and activated too.

After some days around 20days it started giving popup message saying Activate your windows product, when we press ok button to activate it says this key is already activated.

After 29 days the system not even login as it happen if key is not activated.

Hope I explained my problem clearly ...

Please give us a solution to resolve it.....

  • XP will work, but its a security nighmare

You have no idea how they are using the systems.  They could be on a stand alone internal only intranet that never sees the outside world.  Telling people that they need to replace their computers or OS installs without knowing the facts on their setup and usage is not recommended.

And besides, this is NOT a security based question - he is asking about Windows Genuine Advantage Validation issues.  Windows XP will continue to activate even though no more software updates are being released.

  • You will want to post y our question in the Windows XP Genuine Issues Forum.  Read the following directions and post your results in that forum:

    MGA Diagnostic Report:

To properly analyze and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop -http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

    Once downloaded, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.
Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your post.

    One Issue Per Thread:

Most Activation and Validation issues look the same, on the surface, but can have many different causes and fixes. This is why we ask for a diagnostic report and this is also why we ask that you create your own thread for your issue (in other words, don't post your issue in another person's thread).

It just becomes too complicated to try to troubleshoot multiple different issues in the same thread.

This is absolutely NOT TRUE.  They are out of support which means no more NEW updates.  That is ALL it means.  These systems will still work and still activate.  They are NOT getting this message just because it is an XP system.  OP has not listed their system requirements or what environment they are being used in.  We have NO idea if they need to upgrade their OS or buy new hardware.
