Project Server 2010 Permissions inheritance in SharePoint libraries. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

If I break the Project Server 2010 permissions inheritance in a SharePoint library, can I expect that inheritance will also be broken for the sub-libraries of the top level library?

When the permissions inheritance of a SharePoint library has been broken, is it possible to reactivate this inheritance? How?

    Thanks for your help.

  • WLID1966,

First of all you cannot create libraries within libraries in SharePoint, so I will assume you are talking about "Folders: within libraries.

The Hierarchy of Inheritance is Site >> Library >> Folder >> Document

So, if you break the inheritance between Site and Library, the Folders and Documents still continue inheriting from the Library. Only now, the library is not inheriting from the Site.

And if you want to re-enable inheritance, you navigate to Library Permissions from the Ribbon and click on Inherit Permissions.
