SCCM 1606 Extend AD schema RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

I am ready to setup a separate SCCM in our environment, currently there is a existing SCCM 2012r2 here already. Do I need to extend AD schema again while installing the SCCM (CB)?

    Thanks,

    Steven

  • No you don't need to do it again. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/network/extend-the-active-directory-schema

"If your Active Directory schema was extended for Configuration Manager 2007 or System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, then you don't need to do more. The schema extensions are unchanged and will already be in place."

  • Hi,

You don't need to do extensions. In addition, you can run an in-place upgrade to upgrade to SCCM CB from a site and hierarchy that runs System Center 2012 Configuration Manager:
