Excel spredsheet output to SCV file From MOSS 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'll be gratful if some one could point me to the right direction. I've excel a spreadsheet with builtin macros. It has few drop down menus, which allow users to pick values. Once the calculations are done, these results are saved into a CSV files.

This process works perfectly as the desktop tool, but i want to integrate this to MOSS 2007.

    ·         Can this be done, buy exposing this spreadsheet via Excel Webpart...?

    ·         Is is possible to write the output from this excel file to CSV files...?

Any help in this regard will be highly appriciated...!

  • Hi,

From SharePoint end the easiest way is to save file on a doc library and then edit it as er your requirement then save it back to SharePoint.

another way to edit and update it dynamically create Data Connection Library, and create UDC file which will act as a mediator / bridge between SharePoint and Excel.

A very good article on how to create and use Data Connection Libs and UDC :

  • Hi Patrick

Thank you so much for your reply, I've alreadytried this but faild...!

I think i didnt ask the question properly, here is what i want to do

    1.  A Mortgage Calculator is developed (with Macros) in Excel 2007. It is then deployed to SharePoint document library.

    2. It is then integrated into Excel Web Access Web part and displayed as Web Page

    3. Customer enter their personal & finincial details. This then calculate the customer score and Save the output to CSV file

What i want to do is send the user information and calculate rates to a CSV file onto my Shared Network drive...?

    Thank you
