How to availing PerformancePoint server to External users (not in domain) RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are planning to implement PerformancePoint Server for our users so that they can run analysis against the CUBES and export the out put to various formats (Excel, etc).
    The plan:
    1. To avail PPS through the web. i.e by installing it on a web server and let it connect to the backend database server.
    2. Users are Active Directory members but no user workstation exists in the domain as PPS is to be installed in a data center.
    3. Let users download or post the out put to a sharepoint site (we have WSS 3.0 in place)
    Question:
    1. What will be design scednario to avail PPS over the web for remote users who are AD members
    2. How can we integrate it with WSS 3.0 do we have to purchase MOSS.
    3. How can users be able to use the the PerformancePoint Ad-ins for Excel.

Please let us know if there is an alternate way of availing PPS for external users not in the domain.

    Thanks in advance.
    Ged.

  • Just to clarify the article will show you how to make the deployed dashboards available on a extranet.  You will not be able to deploy Dashboard Designer to the extranet, this tool must be used in the internal network.
