    Cannot create new folder in Windows 7, only a New Briefcase ?? i need the new folder thing back

    Hi,

    Did you make any changes before the issue appears?

    Before going further, you may try the system restore to go back to a previous status and check the result.

    More information is needed. Where and how you are trying to create new folder. Account and its access rights are important. Use cacls function to discover access rights.

    Perhaps more appropriate forum for question like this one is answers.microsoft.com
