Can Nano Server change Workgroup Name?

Question
-
Hello, I don't have a real requirement of changing Workgroup Name on Nano Server. I just study Nano Server and want to know whether it is possible to change Workgroup Name on Nano Server with unattend file offline or manually online. I have tried to use unattend file by using UnattendJoin specialize pass, but it failed. And there is no add-computer cmdlet on Nano Server. So does Nano Server support it?

Hi Shindar,
Please check out the Nano Server documentation: https://technet.microsoft.com/windows-server-docs/compute/nano-server/getting-started-with-nano-server, and look for "Joining domains". You will also find an example for offline domain join under "Appendix 2: Sample Unattend.xml file that joins Nano Server to a domain".
Note that domain-joining in Nano Server is blob-based, and cmdlets such as Add-Computer are not yet supported.
Thanks

Hi Shindar,
Unfortunately, I have tried what you have asked and is unable to change the Workgroup name for Nano Server that are Non-Domain joined.
I can see a practical use case of having to change the Workgroup name for NanoServer that are non-domain joined located in DMZ environment or frontend internet facing environment. But at the current Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 5 Nano Server, this is not possible using WMIC command line and PowerShell Set-CIMInstance to make any changes to the Workgroup name.
I have highlighted this to Nano Server UserVoice channel and you can support the clause by voting it using the link below:
Hopefully, that will help the Nano Server to have this capability to change the Workgroup name from the Recovery Console or Commandline. If this capability already exist, hopefully someone from MSFT can enlighten us. :)

Thanks again.
