Internet Latency RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi:

I have had this issue since the end of October (2012) beginning of November. Open Internet Explorer (9)  and wait for the homepage 10 -12 sec. I will get some specs out of the way:

    ISP-10Mb Fibre

    PC- Win 7 Ult 64 bit I7 32gb RAM 120GB SSD 2 GB Video

    Servers are 2008 R2 64bit quad with 8GB

All have Gb NIC's and Switches.

All my trace routes come clean. no packet loss on most sites. Downloads are usually over 1Mb (speed). Speed tests are consistant (speedtest.net) Ping tests are clean.

My intranet site (sharepoint 2010) has no issues with pages.

I did a restore to Mid October. Same results. I have tried looking at IP protocols 6to4. disabling ipv6. still no go. Looking for other ideas.

  • B L,

Have you tried using OpenDNS servers as your DNS servers.  I believe the numbers are (or just google opendns):

      1.  208.67.222.222

      2.  208.67.220.220

They've immensely helped my cruisin' speed.  Hope this helps
