Disable Right-Click in IE: Menu Bar, Status Bar, Links RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've got everything locked down save for one thing that is driving me a little crazy.

I don't want people to be able to right-click in IE and toggle on/off the Menu Bar, Status Bar, Links, etc.  I've got every possible setting turned on in SteadyState and you can still turn these menus on/off by right-clicking.  I could make the changes in group policy, but I was hoping there was an easy way to do it using SteadyState.

Fully patched IE7 and XP, by the way.

    Thanks!

Hi Patrick, have you tried enabling the option under User Settings – Feature Restrictions – Internet Explorer restrictions – Prevent right-click in Internet Explorer? In this way, the option "Standard Buttons", "Address Bar" and "Links" will be grayed out so that users cannot edit them to turn on/off.

    Hope this helps!
