  • Question

  • Is there a way to keep the sidebar on the desktop when you press the show desktop button? I like the sidebar but find every time I press the show desktop button its gone, is there a way to stop this? Also is there a way to make the transparent square that appears around desktop icons when you hover over them stop?I prefer when its only the icon that becomes darkened as in XP. Thanks for any help

  • If you right-click on the side-bar and select "properties", you can then check ON the "Sidebar is always on top of other windows".  You can also click on the sidebar logo in the system tray to get this menu.  Sadly that makes the sidebar alwase on, and takes up a portion of your screen like a AIM chat app.

Another method you could do is every time you click "Show Desktop", you can train yourself to press the windows key + spacebar.  This key combo automatically brings the gadgets to front.
