    Failed to reboot the system(0x800700C1)

  • Issue resolved-Used WinPE 3.1-x86 boot image..But now getting a new error after machine restart.

"Windows PE Initialization Failed with error code 0X80040154."

NOTE :: In my local lab in which i have successfully implement the same scenario,i used the default boot image.(OS Version - 6.3.9431.0)

In the another lab,in which i am getting error  the boot image OS version is different i.e 6.3.9600.16384. SCCM 2012 R2 installed on both lab still there is difference in boot image version.

  • Sounds like the second lab you have has one of the following problems:

    1. You've applied KB2910552 and haven't regenerated your boot images and replicated them

    or

    2. Your Windows XP client doesn't have the patched SCCM client installed.

Note: You should be using a custom built Window PE 3.1 Boot Image with required drivers for this process.

    Cheers

  • Thank you for sharing the solution.

If your question was resolved/answered, you should mark the thread as "answered".

Then you should make e new thread/question for the new error you get. This will make it alot easier for other users, modetrators and Microsoft to help you. It will also make it much eaiser for othe people with the same issue to search the forums.

    Thank you.
