Clarification: Project Server 2010: Publish Project Job RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

As far as I know, Project Publish job does an INCREMENTAL UPDATE  in Published database.

Lately, one of the project publish job got failed and when check the error log, found the following error:

    • GeneralQueueJobFailed (26000) - ProjectPublish.FullPublishDeleteMessage. Details: id='26000' name='GeneralQueueJobFailed' uid='XXXGUID' JobUID='XXXGUID' ComputerName='XXX' GroupType='ProjectPublish' MessageType='FullPublishDeleteMessage' MessageId='48' Stage=''. For more details, check the ULS logs on machine XXX for entries with JobUID XXXGUID

As per the error, it seems it is performing the DELETE and INSERT operation rather an INCREMENTAL UPDATE operation.

When re-publish the project, it got through.

MY Concern, here is if the job fails, then none of the assignments are updated in the publish database and hence, none of users will be able to see their task in Timesheet in PWA.

Is there any SETTINGs that got enabled to perform FullPublishDelete operation rather than INCREMENTAL Update?

    Kindly suggest!!!

If project is published via Project Pro client, is considered as full publish and if published via PWA is considered as partial publish.

Only different between two is Project Client can perform certain data calculation which is not available in PWA.

To answer to your question, NO there is no such setting available.
