  • Question

  • Hi,

we running several DPM 2010 servers and now we would like to encrypt ALL data traffic (not just DPM)  in our environment by Windows Firewall / Advanced Security certificate based.

Is it possible to implement that with DPM?

Is this officially supported bei Microsoft?

Are there any disadvantages wehn using this?

Any hints, suggestions and experiences are more then welcome.

    Thanks in advance

    regards

  • Hi,

Yes, you can enable IPSEC and DPM will not be effected, we support that with the caveat that if we were to require a network trace for any reason, you would need to turn off IPSEC on the mechines we needed traces from.  However, that is a very rare need.
