MOSS 2007 and Active Directory Synchronization RRS feed

  • Question

  • How to synchronize the account names in MOSS 2007 when account login name gets changed in AD?

We have a typical scenario to deal with where in all AD account login names are getting changed to a different format. These user profiles are already existing in the MOSS 2007 sites. How to update the existing user profiles with the updated account names without affecting their normal access / authorization to site content.

  • Hi,

According to your description, you want to keep MOSS 2007 and Active Directory in Synchronization.

If you are using MOSS 2007, please check that if you have installed SP1. This problem may occur when the profile synchronization timer job does not correctly synchronize the changes in the User name and Account name information. Please try the resolution provided in the KB below:

Please let us know if this cannot resolve your issue. Thanks!

    Best regards

By marking a post as an answer you are confirming (as the person who asked the question) that this answer **solved your problem**

Marking John's post as the answer at this stage is too early as you haven't yet checked that it did solve your problem.

Report back if when you have tested it and if it did solve your question *then* mark it.
