MS Exchange 2003 - Update the Outlook 2010 calendars for multiple users. RRS feed

  • Question

  • In an Exchange 2003 environment for supporting Outlook 2010 clients.

Considering the issue of incorrect calendars in Outlook 2010.Need to update the calendars of all users in the enterprise to add the new holiday file (*.HOL) through Exchange 2003.

Please let me know if it is possible to do this using Exchange 2003.

  • Hi,
Exchange doesn't know anything about Holidays. It is Outlook that adds the holidays to the users Calendar and if you want help to with it, you should post in the forum for Outlook.

Outlook 2010 RTM had a lot of incorrect holidays, but as far as I know that that was fixed in SP1.
Maybe you have some patching to do.

  • Thanks for your reply Martina.Office in my environment is Office 2010 with SP1. It isn't RTM.
I was looking for a procedure similar to that can be done in Exchange 2010 for adding holidays to calendar in Outlook for multiple users.May be the previous version of Exchange (2003) does not support the method used here http://www.msexchange.org/blogs/walther/news/centrally-adding-location-specific-holidays-to-exchange-2010-calendars-620.html.

  • Using a 10 year old version of Exchange has its drawbacks to say the least.
Even in Exchange 2010 I wouldn't do what's suggested in the link you posted, because it has happened that the calendar folder permissions has been changed after doing so.
