    I have used a FreeAgent GoFlex external drive for some years attached to a Dell computer with Windows Xp operating system. That computer broke down irreparably in December 2018. I purchased a new Dell Inspiron 3472 computer with Windows 10 operating system and reconnected the GoFlex external drive, since it carries all my active work. The majority of files are intact as expected, however, some files claim to be empty although I know that thousands of items are missing. Any ideas?

    You will probably get better responses in a Windows 10 forum.

    Hi,

    Have you ever encrypted these files using EFS?

    I think you will need to use three-party software to try to recover lost files.
