EdgeHTML 14 - Ajax call responses not interpreted correctly RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am using ajax calls in a web application. The code works fine in all browsers apart from EdgeHTML 14.

    Are there any new security features in the new Edge browser which will prevent responses using ajax/jquery not being interpreted correctly?

    Even though a result of success is returned (which i can see the server responding with), the code drops into the 'error' logic.

    Using any other browser, the servers response of 'success' is picked up correctly and the code continues to 'submitOrder'

    Thanks, Mike

    An example of the code looks like this -

    var makeCallToServer = function(){
    var personalReferenceValue = personalReference.val();
    var data = {
    order: prderValue
    type : "POST",
    cache: false,
    url : '/jsp/makeCallToServer.jsp?request=true',
    data : data,
    async : true,
    success : submitOrder,
    error : function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) {
        if (textStatus === "abort") return;
        AjaxUtils.loadErrorRedirect(textStatus, errorThrown);
