Clustering in Hyper-V RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi,

I have a Hyper-V host server (SERVER1) in production. Some VMs are running on that server. Now I need to add a new server (SERVER2) and need to create a failover clustering with both servers. So that we can use HA for the previously running machines on SERVER1. Is  it possible to create Failover clustering  without having a downtime with the previously running machines? What will be the effect on previous machines  on SERVER1 if I create failover cluster with SERVER1 and SERVER2. Will already running VMs  on SERVER1 run without any issue and they can be added in clustering without rebooting them? I don't want a downtime for previous  VMs in SERVER1.

    Thanks

    Anees
