  • and can you tell me whether wsus4 supports win xp computers?

Actually it's WSUS v6 (there is no beast known as WSUS v4), and YES.. all versions of WSUS can provide Windows XP updates to Windows XP SP3 or later systems. But there shouldn't be any Windows XP systems that require any updates, given that it's been several months since the last Windows XP update was published.

Allow me also to reiterate that there are no NEW Windows XP updates coming, and continuing to use such systems should be only where Internet access is not possible.

  • Wsus 4 is an integrated role in Windows server 2012. there is no standalone installer for this version. You will have to install WSUS 3.0 sp2 if using OS prior to 2012
