Good evening togehter,

I would like to ask you something regarding the UCS in SfB.

I know that the contacts will be stored in Exchange when you enbale it but could you tell me what the exact purpose/advantage of the UCS is?

Are the synchronization between Outlook, OWA, Windows Phone and the ability to manage these contacts in Outlook the only advantages?

Are you using the UCS in your environment?

Hi Markus,

Welcome to post in our forum.

The purpose of the UCS is that to store a Lync enabled user’s contact in Exchange server instead of Lync server itself.

In SFB 2015, Unified contact store is enabled by default. You can enable or disable users for unified contact store globally, by site, by tenant, or by individuals or groups of individuals.
